These outtakes are from a series of shots created recently for a Fortune 500 company. The products were so large the client rented a large sound stage facility in Conneticut, Sonalyst Studios. Great place to shoot large product, with a great staff. This set was constructed on a 7500 sq ft set, with 35-foot ceilings. Because of the client’s requirements, the knockout silo’d look on film without actually knocking it out in postproduction. I lit this set with 35 heads powered by 25, that’s right 25, 2400 watt second power supplies. Also a number of smaller self-contained units were scattered here and there. Over 3 weeks on site and we had 40 shots. Client is very happy.

Product view on location, Lucent network device. I nailed the layout shots we came in to do in less than expected time and instead of leaving early like a sane person I suggested doing a couple of forced perspective views to finish out the shoot. When I came back for a different project the client showed me a poster made from it. I guess they liked it.

Industrial location photography. These shots are for a large contract manufacturer's identity piece. To market a contract manufacturer who has no fixed product line you focus in on the products the have produced, their facility capabilities and experience level.<br />
Much like you would choose a commercial photographer.

These were for a small but high quality machine shop, seems I've done a great many of these. I always keep the shots tight and focus on their capabilities, the things that make them different.

location/ facility/ capability views for Advance Reproductions Corp, company wanted some gee whiz views to mirror their state of the art precision imaging facility.

Here are two of from a series of approximately 20 machine shots we photographed on site for a manufacturer of industrial chillers for their latest catalog. The client hired me for my style of lighting; they liked what I did with boxes, and stainless steel. <br />

Views of composting toilets, that's right they are high tech outhouses, are included to show how large product can be photographed almost anywhere, in this case a very unglamorous production floor and later polished in PhotoShop, Silhouetted and backgrounds added for clients layout.

Cad areas don't normally look like this, neither did this one when we walked in. After a bit of rearranging this is what we came up with. I really hate seeing the back of someone's head in the foreground of a computer system shot..

only after the equipment has some impact. When that is complete can I concentrate on the talent.<br />

This company makes extremely large particle beam accelerators. Shot on factory floor. Shop background removed and new background added in photoshop. The key here once again is getting great lighting on the unit at exposure. Digital capture.
